New Beginnings!!!

As of April 24th I am an employee of my local Walmart Super Center as a People Greeter/Cashier. I know, I hear you saying...(Wah! I thought you said you would never take a job there?). Your right of course, but after some years and growing, I realized that the price was right and if I ever wanted to have anything of my own-well I was going to have to suck it up and take the job.

The thing is that when I signed on it was with the notion that, because Chris already had a job there that I would try to work on the same schedule as him until  I could get a car of my own. That way we could ride back and forth to work together, then mom and dad would be off the hook for giving me rides. But, wouldn't you know it-before I started my actual shift something came up and he got fired. Now they are dragging their feet on getting him hired again. I'm not entirely sure that he isn't fine with that, but he is taking me to and from.

I just found out last night that my beautiful twin nieces have been selected for something called the Science SNRA of which only 30 students are eligible and they both got in. I'm so sticking proud of them, of all my nieces and nephews-they are all so intelligent and good looking, thank God they didn't take after me.

RELAXATION

SILVER CLIFFS INN

Bed and Breakfast

If your looking for a really peaceful and relaxing time then this is the place. Of course, this was my first stay in a B & B so I might be just a little biased. The two wonderful ladies, Deanna and Della, make you feel pampered and right at home, but they never intruded into our privacy.

Early morning view
 from the back deck

My Room
The area was so quiet and laid back, which really enhanced the relaxation. No noise other than the sounds you make or the t.v. that you decide to watch. No phones ringing, kids scampering about, work to do, yes nothing but relaxing to do.

We didn't have anything except, our place to stay, where we were going for lunch on Saturday and our "Lethal Weapon" film fest planned out, everything else we just kind of winged it.  That plan-to not plan, worked out perfectly. No time limits, no schedules just FUN!!!  The only time we didn't just talk and have fun was on the long ride home...that's why, we were headed home and there isn't much to say about that.

The view in front
 of the Planetarium
All three of us wanted to just stay there, it was that nice. Della and Deanna were interesting to meet and talk to at breakfast Saturday and Sunday morning. Great food and conversation not to mention getting to meet the other guests, awaited us each morning. On Saturday morning we met a couple from England that were visiting and looking for flea market finds just like Melissa was. Sunday we met a couple from Nashville who were celebrating their Anniversary. They talked about having a big family and how she always made (crochet) the blankets for the new additions to the family.

On the road Saturday
On Saturday after lunch at Patti's we went to a Planetarium, then the Elk and Bison Prairie before returning to sanctuary again at Silver Cliff's. On Sunday after breakfast (which we kind of stretched out) I settle our bill and thanked Deanna and Della once again for a wonderful experience and said we would be coming back when we could.

From there we headed to Nashville to see the American Pickers (they have a Television show) shop, well one of them anyway.  This one was called Antique Archeology and it was cool. In one of the episodes the guys came across a giant pigs head (not a real pig) that had written on it at the bottom "Kiss me you fool", that was in this shop-here I have proof....

See it really does have
" Kiss Me You Fool "
written on it.

After that we went to Opry Mills Mall to eat at a 50's style restuarant before heading home, ugh...we had to come home.

I CAN'T WAIT

I can hardly wait until tomarrow.

My Birthday was the 7th of this month and this weekend (Friday through Sunday) my sister, mom and I are going to a B & B to stay for two nights.  Now I know that a lone doesn't sound to thrilling, but I've always wanted to stay at a B & B just for the sake of being able to say that I've stayed at a B & B.  Not to metion the fact that collectively none of us has much money.

No it's just a little excursion to get away from the hussle and bussle of normal life for a few days to celebrate my Birth and have some relaxation with two of my favorite ladies that I don't get to spend that much time with.

We are going to have lunch on Saturday at a really good resturant and maybe explore a little, but mostly just relaxing and not worrying about home and family for just a little while.

Oh, I can't wait.............

MEMORY LANE

Sitting here (playing around with my new laptop) and thinking of all that has changed in the year since I last posted. It's been a year people (actually a little more) since I posted something on here-that's bad, but life happens.
At the time of my last post I still hadn't been able to obtain employment yet (still looking, just hadn't found). I had decided to take the advice of family and friends to take the leap into selling my wares. I rather enjoy knitting and crocheting, so after some encouragement I took the plunge and started up a blog site to offer my services to the otherwise knitting and crocheting challenged.
Then on May the 5th I started my new job, yes that's right I finally found employment.  It will be one year this May that I have been working in the Deli at my local Sureway Store. I'm enjoying it as well as anyone can (I mean it's work people). I'm looking forward, somewhat, to a work related class coming up. It is to learn how to decorate the cakes (Birthday, etc.).
It's strange, but I'm kind of looking forward to the weekend after my Birthday (April 7th just in case). I've asked for the time off, now all I have to do is figure out what I'm going to do with it.
Well, I guess what I really wanted to say here is that at the moment I'm happy and I really hope it stays that way.....
